Karuvelam Pisin is a natural plant gum/resin obtained from the Karuvelam tree (Acacia nilotica). It is widely used in Siddha, Ayurveda, folk medicine, and traditional home remedies, mainly for digestive support, body cooling, and skin-related uses.
The gum naturally oozes from the bark of the tree and hardens into amber-brown crystalline lumps, which are later collected, cleaned, and sold as raw pisin or powder.
